DevPass is built on trust. This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules and guidelines for using the DevPass platform. By using DevPass, you agree to follow these guidelines.

We designed DevPass to be a trustworthy platform for developers and companies. These policies help us maintain that trust for everyone.

General Principles

  • Be honest. All information on your Developer Passport should be truthful and accurate.
  • Be respectful. Treat other users, developers, and companies with respect and professionalism.
  • Be secure. Protect your account credentials and report any security concerns promptly.
  • Be lawful. Use DevPass in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Developer Guidelines

As a developer using DevPass:

  • Accurate profiles. Ensure your Developer Passport accurately represents your skills, experience, and work history.
  • Honest assessments. Complete technical assessments honestly. Do not use external assistance unless explicitly permitted.
  • Professional conduct. When communicating with companies through DevPass, maintain professional standards.
  • One account. Maintain only one DevPass account. Do not create duplicate accounts to gain unfair advantages.
  • Timely responses. If you signal availability for opportunities, respond to legitimate inquiries in a timely manner.

Company Guidelines

As a company using DevPass:

  • Legitimate hiring. Use developer information only for legitimate hiring and recruitment purposes.
  • No data hoarding. Do not download, store, or cache developer information outside the platform.
  • Respect preferences. Honor developers' availability signals and communication preferences.
  • No discrimination. Do not use DevPass to discriminate against developers based on protected characteristics.
  • Transparent communication. Clearly identify your company and the nature of the opportunity when reaching out to developers.
  • No spam. Do not send mass unsolicited messages to developers.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use DevPass to:

  • Create fake profiles, fraudulent Passports, or impersonate others.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform.
  • Attempt to bypass security measures, access controls, or rate limits.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure or services.
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or other malicious code.
  • Engage in harassment, hate speech, or threatening behavior.
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to DevPass without written permission.
  • Use DevPass for any purpose that could harm the platform, its users, or its reputation.

Content Standards

All content you submit to DevPass must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading.
  • Be your own work or properly attributed.
  • Not contain confidential or proprietary information belonging to others.
  • Not include offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate material.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards and to take action against accounts that repeatedly violate this policy.

Enforcement

We enforce this policy through the following graduated actions:

  1. Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we may issue a warning and request corrective action.
  2. Content removal: Violating content will be removed from the platform.
  3. Feature restriction: Temporary restriction of specific platform features.
  4. Account suspension: Temporary suspension of your account pending investigation.
  5. Account termination: Permanent removal for serious or repeated violations.

We will notify you of enforcement actions and provide an opportunity to respond before permanent account termination, except in cases involving illegal activity or immediate threats to platform security.
